This position is responsible for providing safe transportation for visitors on the Eco Tour Tram, coverage for the Wallaroo Rides,  Safari Ride, Skyfari Ride, Kangaroo Walkabout, and Turnstiles.

• Provide zoo guests with an exceptional visit through good customer service. Politely and diplomatically explain, follow and enforce zoo policies and procedures concerning both guests and employees.
• Responsible for the general functioning, upkeep and safe operation of all Visitor Service positions. Duties include but are not limited to; cleaning surrounding position area and preparing all positions for next day operations.
• Answer, (or obtain answers for), basic questions concerning zoo operation and help guests that are here for meetings, appointments, etc. by locating the appropriate zoo personnel via the telephone or the radio.
• Maintain the integrity of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo at all times.
• Assist with employee breaks as necessary.
• Assist with employee training.
• Maintain training and vehicle logs.
• All other duties as assigned.

Valid Class B Florida driver's license with a passenger endorsement is required.

Must be able to work well with the public and coworkers and present a positive attitude even in difficult situations. Must have excellent communication skills and be detail oriented. Must be able to follow prescribed routines. Must be able to maintain work areas in a clean and organized fashion at all times.

A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications. 

A high school or equivalency diploma is preferred, but current students may be considered.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.  Must be able to withstand typical Florida climate. Must be able to work on nights, weekends, holidays and all special events.
