| Reproduction: | Live-bearer, they mate from spring to fall, and 1-14 young are born August to early October. They mature in 2-3 years. |
The young have a yellow-tipped tail which they twitch to attract some of their prey. During the fall many will gather in rock outcrops which also serve as winter dens. |
