Reproduction: The male will sit on the nest during the day and the female will sit at night.

Overall blue gray color with maroon patch on chest. An elegant head crest tipped in white. Bright red eyes. The largest species of pigeons. They will forage on the ground for food. Threatening factors are habitat alteration, hunted for food and pet trade.
