| Reproduction: | White body with black tipped wings and blue cheek patches. Lacy crest of feathers, which is lifted during courtship. One of the rarest birds in the world, only about 30 remain in the wild. There are about 750 captive-bred in zoological facilities. They build nests in holes in trees and some breeding pairs remain together for several seasons. |
