Mission of the Florida Environmental Education Center
To provide a safe, clean, pleasant and caring environment in which each child may develop his or her physical, social, emotional, and intellectual potential at his or her own pace while fostering a respect for wildlife and wild places through unique zoo interactions.
Facts About the Zoo School
The Zoo School is a 15,000 square foot hands-on learning facility. that houses a Lecture Hall, 11 classrooms and a Resource Center.
Tampa resident and Lowry Park Zoological Society board member Patricia C. Sullivan, herself a former school teacher, provided a $1 million leadership gift for construction. The Frank E. Duckwall Foundation provided a $500,000 grant as the namesake for the new exhibit hall.
During this last fiscal year 80,000 people came to the Zoo School to enjoy our education programs.
