Join us at the "Zoo School" for a fun and exciting field trip experience!


Choose from dynamic auditorium programs or interactive classroom programs for an "EdZOOcational" adventure!

Choose from a wide range of themes including Manatees, Rainforest, Africa, Australia, Florida Wildlife, and more! Programs last approximately 45 minutes to 1-hour and include a close and personal animal encounter.

All programs integrate Sunshine State Standards and will help students meet their FCAT benchmarks. Programs available for grades K-12. For the ultimate field trip, be sure to add a Behind-the Scenes tour of the zoo or a guided Eco boat tour along the scenic Hillsborough River.

Adult Continuing Education Classes


Become an animal expert! The Zoo is excited to offer NEW adult continuing education classes. Gain in-depth knowledge about the Zoo's exotic animal collection through activities such as educational talks, animal encounter or enrichment and a guided tour through the theme-specific area(s) of the Zoo. At the end of the class you will receive a certificate of completion and access to the Zoo. Discount tickets are available to purchase for friends and family.

Adult Hands on Experiences

Come see what your kids are talking about! Join our new Adult Continuing Education Classes that give you a chance to get up close and personnel with our animals. Each class includes an hour long learning session, lunch, and hands on animal experience you won’t forget!

Program Information

Zoo Keeping 101
Saturday, March 20
Learn about the Zoo’s exotic animal collection and work side by side with our keepers. This class will get you “knee deep” in animal information!

Animal Handling and Presentation
Saturday, May 15
Learn about why conservation and saving animals is so important to people and the planet. Then put your knowledge to the test and educate our Zoo guests while handling some of our animal ambassadors – from owls to armadillos and everything in between.

Recycling Invasive Plants (RIP)  Program encourages middle school students to learn about the West Indian Manatee, while participating in a hands-on learning experience focusing on the impact of invasive plants on Florida’s waterways.

Wildlife Presentation

Come face to face with our live animal ambassadors
Scales, Feather's and Fur- Have you ever wondered how an owl keeps its feathers clean, or why an angora rabbit is soft and furry while a alligator is covered in scutes.
  • Ages 3 and up
  • 30 minute program
  • $150.00 flat fee for up to 70 students/chaperones
  • Does not include zoo admission

  • 1 FREE chaperone/teacher per 10 students

    Personal Tour of the Zoo


    Don't miss a second of Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo! Our Edzoocator Xtreme is a high paced, information packed program designed for groups on the go. Who knows the zoo better than we do? Let us teach your group about our animal friends' habitats and native homelands. Learn how we, at the Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, care for our animals and their futures.

  • 45 minutes (30 minute guided tour, 15 minute animal enrichment)

  • Asia- From unusual tapirs to the appealing Sumatran tigers explore the extremes that Asia has to offer.

  • Africa- The African Savannah is home to some of the world's largest land mammals. Come on an African Safari and meet Africa's amazing giants.



  • NEW! Zoo Wide Scavenger Hunt / Team Building Activity

    Heading to the Zoo soon and want to add some educational fun? Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo offers a scavenger hunt for a class or for the entire school.  At the end we will supply the winning group a prize.

    All kids menu items come with Juice Box, Potato Chips and a cookie. The price below is subject to tax unless a tax exempt certificate is present at the time of order.

    We look forward to having your group here at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. This year we are offering a gift bag program that allows students to purchase a souvenir without shopping in the Gift Shop.

    $3.00 Gift Bag includes:
    Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo pencil
    Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo postcard
    Goody Bag surprise (could be keychain, small toy, stickers etc..)

    Call the gift shop buyer at 813-935-8552 x215 to order your goody bags. They will be available for pick-up at the main gift shop the day of your visit.

    **If you want your gift bag to feature a specific animal and/or want to include a plush animal, this is available at an additional fee. Call the gift shop buyer regarding pricing and available animals.



    NEW! Student Buffet Lunch Option

    Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo now offers a buffet style lunch for school groups. 
    • Group must be 75 people or more.
    • Prices*: Child $6.95 / Adult $8.95 plus tax.
    • Must be paid in full prior to dining.
    • Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance.
    • Cancellations must be no later than 48 hours from the date of service.
    • Groups will be slotted for half hour intervals to attend the buffet and must depart within 40 minutes from the start time.
    • The buffet may consist of the following choices: hamburgers, mac and cheese, fruit salad, chips, brownies and fruit punch. Menu may vary.
