Commitment to Conservation
Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is committed to excellence in education, conservation and research. Our mission is to "Connect People with the Living Earth." Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, and other zoo and aquarium members of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), have made it their highest priority to help conserve wildlife through public education, scientific research, captive breeding for reintroduction, and fund-raising to support field conservation. The AZA Species Survival Plan® (SSP) program has long played a crucial role in sustaining threatened and endangered species. Guests will find about 40 of these animals at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo.
