Commitment to Conservation
Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is home to many different species.

It is a diverse animal collection that is well suited for our local climate. All animals are housed in lush natural habitats that are fun and engaging for both our animals and our visitors. The Zoo promotes many interactive exhibits which allow our visitors close yet safe contact with many species throughout the Zoo.

The Animal Department has a skilled and dedicated staff of more than 50 employees. Animal Department keepers are continually looking for ways to enhance the animals' lives through behavioral enrichment, operant conditioning and exhibit improvements. Scheduled keeper presentations allow keepers the time to educate the public about the animals' unique qualities and conservation issues from around the globe.
