Veterans Day at the Zoo

In honor of Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, any active duty, activated, retired or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman is entitled to free admission on that day. He or she will need to show a Department of Defense photo ID at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo ticket counter. As many as three direct dependants of military personnel also are entitled to free admission. Dependants may take advantage of the offer without their service member, though an adult must accompany minor dependants.

Wild at Heart

In honor of Valentine’s Day, singles, couples and groups of friends (ages 21 and up) are invited to the Zoo for a lighthearted look at love in the animal kingdom. This fourth annual tour and progressive dinner will entertain guests with interesting stories about the pairing, partnering and mating habits of our animal residents. Guests are welcomed with romantic refreshments and up-close animal encounters, where they will proceed to various animal habitat areas stopping for salads, candlelight dinner and dessert. The event is open bar. Two tours are offered each night of the event, lasting approximately 3.5 hours. Reservations are required. Join Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for the fifth annual ZOOZoom, a 5K run that winds through the Zoo and along the scenic Hillsborough River. Registration cost includes admission to the Zoo for the day for the entrant only, tee-shirt and post-race refreshments. All Early Bird registrants are guaranteed a tee-shirt; others available while supplies last. Early Bird registrants also receive an extra Zoo ticket to give to a friend or use at another time. Zoo School Summer Camp Early Registration Day

Known as one of the largest and "wildest" all-inclusive food festivals in the Tampa Bay Area, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo invites food lovers to its 23rd annual Zoofari feeding frenzy. The event features great food sampling from more than 60 of the Bay area's best restaurants, open bars, the "Art Safari" wildlife art auction, and live music throughout the event. The Zoo welcomes Florida favorite Sister Hazel on the main stage, and additional artists Jason Young, Nate Najar, Alan Darcy, Grupo Havana Swing, and The Vodkanuts in locations throughout the Zoo. Admission tickets are all-inclusive and the event is rain or shine.
