Wild at Heart
Friday, February 10 · 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 11 · 5:30 p.m.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, singles, couples and groups of friends (ages 21 and up) are invited to the Zoo for a lighthearted look at love in the animal kingdom.  This 7th annual dinner and tour will entertain guests with interesting stories about the pairing, partnering and mating habits of our animal residents. Guests are welcomed with champagne, an up-close animal encounter and then a romantic dinner.  They will then proceed to various animal habitat areas stopping for dessert. The event is open bar and lasts approximately 3 hours. 

Reservations are required.
  Tickets are $65 per person; Annual Zoo Pass holders receive a discount ($5 off or $60 per ticket).

Valentine’s Weekend Parent’s Night Out
Friday, February 10 • 6-10:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 11 • 5-10:30 p.m.

The Zoo School is offering “Parent’s Night Out” professional child care service from 6-10:30 p.m. February 10 and from 5-10:30 p.m. February 11 for children ages 3-12 (younger children must be toilet trained) at the Zoo School.  Price is $30 for the first child and $10 each additional sibling. Zoo School will supply the entertainment, pizza, drinks and peace of mind so parents can enjoy the evening out. Pre-registration is required. Visit the Zoo School registration page, choose “Programs & Classes,” then select “Parent’s Night Out.” The child care service is designed to accommodate parents attending Wild at Heart, but it is not a requirement for parents to stay at the Zoo.

Valentine's Day Date at the Zoo
February 10, 11 or 12 Tours at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m. or 1:30 p.m.

The Zoo is the perfect place for a date. Whether it's a first date with a prospective new love or a return trip with your sweetheart of many years—make this Valentine’s Day it extra special. This VIP program will feature two of the significant animal “couples” found at the Zoo-- African penguins and Clouded leopards. A maximum of 8 people will be on each VIP tour per time slot.

  • Appropriate for Ages: 18 & up
  • Includes: Admission into the Zoo for two, one “Adopt An Animal” package for either the penguin (with one plush) or clouded leopard (with two plush), VIP tour given by Zoo staff with some behind-the-scenes access, two meal vouchers for lunch in the Garden Grill.
  • Cost: $220. Payment is due at the time of booking.

$5 Day
Sunday, February 19 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Visit your favorite animals at the Zoo and learn about endangered wildlife for just $5 admission per person. 

Free extra parking is available on $5 day only next to the Tampa Greyhound Track. Free shuttles will run continuously from that lot to the Zoo between 9 a.m.-6 p.m. From I-275, take Exit 49 to Bird Street and go one block East. Park in indicated areas.  

Please note: due to this special discount, Zoo rides are not included with admission on $5 Day.


Orangutan Egg Hunt
Friday, April 6 • 11 a.m.

Watch the Zoo’s Bornean orangutan family have some Easter fun with their own egg hunt, an annual treat for the primates and zoo guests.

The egg hunt is included with Zoo admission.


Karamu XXIV
Saturday, April 14 • 6:30 p.m.

Join the area’s top business and community leaders at Karamu XXIV, the Zoo’s signature annual black tie gala.  This year’s event, hosted by Karamu XXIV Chair Mrs. Sharon Chapman and the Karamu committee, is set in the Zoo’s spectacular Safari Lodge events facility and adjoining outdoor plaza. Guest enjoy cocktails, up-close animal encounters, seated dinner, silent and live auctions, live entertainment and dancing.

Enrichment Day & Party for the Planet
Saturday, April 21 • 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Celebrate the living Earth at the Zoo with a day of family fun and discovery.  Learn new ways to connect to the environment and make a difference in conservation by spending the day with the animals who share our planet.  Enjoy a wide variety of animal enrichment activities, educational displays and exhibits throughout the Zoo. Enrichment Day activities are included with Zoo admission.



Saturday, March 10
Check in 6:30 a.m., run 7:30 a.m.

Join the Zoo for the seventh annual ZOOZoom, a 5K run that winds through the Zoo and along the scenic Hillsborough River.  Registration cost includes admission to the Zoo for the day for the entrant only, t-shirt and post-race refreshments.  All Early Bird registrants are guaranteed a t-shirt; others available while supplies last. Early Bird registrants also receive an extra Zoo ticket to give to a friend or use at another time.

Early Bird registration through February 26 is $25.
After February 26, registration is $30. Walk-ups are accepted the day of the Run.
