Southern Madagascar These tortoises are endangered, mainly because of the destruction of their habitat by humans and because of poaching.

The oldest tortoise ever recorded, indeed the oldest reptile ever recorded, was a radiated tortoise, “Tui Malila”, which lived to the age of 188.






Habitat: Dry regions of brush, thorn forests and woodlands.
Diet: Grasses, fruits and succulent plants.
Status: Vulnerable (IUCN)
