The name White faced whistling duck derives from the birds’ white faces and unique three note whistle. The White faced whistling ducks are highly sociable animals and will fly with as many as 100 other ducks. The White faced whistling duck is widespread throughout Africa and South America. Although the duck has a long neck and leg they do not spend a lot of time in trees like a typical duck. They prefer to rest in sand banks.
