The Sulawesi Tarictic Hornbill is endemic to Indonesia. Males have yellow faces, black bodies, and a yellow/black horn bill. Females are all black with a darker bill. This is a social species and they are believed to live in groups of up to 20. Breeding is done cooperatively: males provide food for females as they incubate the eggs, while other birds in the group protect the nesting mothers and the fledglings from predators after they hatch.
