The Red Legged Seriema is a very fast runner. Generally, these birds can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour on the ground. These birds will run from danger more often than fly from it.
Seriemas feature brown/gray feathers all over their bodies except for their white bellies. These unsual birds are also one of the few birds with eyelashes. This species gets its name from its long, bright red-orange legs.
