The Pied imperial pigeon is one of the strongest and most alert fliers in the bird community. They have large flight muscles which allow them to island hop and fly across large bodies of water. They have bluish-black flight feathers and tails. The Pied imperial pigeon takes very good care of their feathers. They practice rain-bathing in order to keep their feathers clean. They also fix their feathers with their beaks.
