A male red-tailed guenon (also known as a Schmidt's spot-nosed guenon) named "Ahnmom" arrived on December 29, 2012 to mom, "Nyoni." These tiny primates (only 6-8 pounds when fully grown) were initially rescued from bushmeat markets in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). At the Zoo, red-tailed guenons live with Wolf's guenons in a social group, as they would in the wild, and spend their days climbing, jumping, swinging and foraging. Ahnmom is on exhibit daily along with the other guenons in Primate World.
