On March 24, 2013 a South African nyala gave birth to a male calf in the Zoo's Safari Africa mixed species exhibit. The calf, named "Finley" is still under the watchful eye of mother "Neema" but enjoys exploring the exhibit and lying with the duikers in the tall grass. Right now Finley is a spitting image of his mom, but will soon start developing the male coloration when he is 10-14 months old. He will also grow impressive horns as he matures as an adult.
