Tours

Inside Look Tour

Take a sneak peek behind-the-scenes at the inner workings of a zoo. During this program, your group will visit the Zoo’s commissary where the animals’ diets are made, tour our world-class manatee hospital, and have an up-close animal interaction.

Program Information

  • Ages 5 to adult
  • 30-45 minutes
  • 5-60 participants
  • Large groups must be divided into groups of 20 or fewer participants for tour
  • $10 per participant (minimum of 5 participants or flat rate of $50)
  • Zoo access before/after program is not included. However, Zoo access can be added for a discounted group rate. Group rates must be scheduled in advance and one person needs to pay for everyone on the day of your visit.

Zoo Adventure Tours

Your group will get unique insight and inside information as you are led by a knowledgeable Zoo guide through one of the Zoo’s exciting animal areas.

Tour Area Options:

Florida Boardwalk Meet the original Florida natives past, present, and some with a future unknown.

Primate World Bring your group of primates to meet ours and learn about the cool characteristics of our closest cousins in the animal kingdom.

Asian Gardens From massive Indian rhinos to rare Malayan tigers, explore the fascinating animals of this massive continent.

Safari Africa The African savannah is home to elusive and diverse wildlife as well as some of the world’s largest land mammals. Take a trek to see what African animals you can discover.

Program Information

  • Ages 5 to adult
  • 45-60 minutes
  • 15-60 participants
  • Large groups must be divided into groups of 20 or fewer participants for tour
  • $4 per participant (minimum of 15 participants or flat rate of $60)
  • Zoo access before/after program is not included. However, Zoo access can be added for a discounted group rate. Group rates must be scheduled in advance and one person needs to pay for everyone on the day of your visit.


Jurassic Journeys

Discover what the animals living in the Zoo today have in common with their prehistoric predecessors. This family friendly tour begins in the present and ends millions of years in the past.


Program Information:


• Ages: 5 to adult
• 60 minutes
• $10 per participant
• $150 flat rate for groups under 15 participants
• Includes entrance into DinoQuest2. Does not include Zoo admission before/after program. However, Zoo access can be added for a discounted group rate. Group rates must be scheduled in advance.
• Available March-May

Special Experiences
Family Premium Experience

Bring the little ones for a one-of-a-kind experience designed to be fun for both adults and young children. Your family will travel around the Zoo with a tour guide to visit and interact with some of our amazing animals which may include stingrays, Key deer, meerkats, and more. These tours are stroller-friendly, include bathroom breaks, and provide many hands-on opportunities with our Zoo residents.

Family Premium Experience Program Information:
  • Ages: all
  • Approx. 90 minutes
  • $100 per adult, $50 per child ages 3-12 (ages 2 and under are free)
  • Maximum of 6 participants (including children 2 and under) per tour
  • Includes Zoo admission
Premium Behind-the-Scenes Experiences

Hands-on Premium Behind-the-Scenes Experience
Want to get your hands on the animals? Then this tour is for you! This unique experience travels behind-the-scenes to provide unique encounters with some of our touch-friendly animals including singing dogs, okapi, white rhinos, Aldabra tortoises, Key deer, and more*. This walking tour provides fantastic photo opportunities and one-of-a-kind memories.

Globe Trotter Premium Behind-the-Scenes Experience
Visit with our diverse collection of animals from around the world as we travel behind-the-scenes for some up-close interactions. On this exclusive, memorable tour, you’ll see representatives from every continent including wallabies, meerkats, penguins, Indian rhinos, black bears, and more*.

Zookeeper Sneak Peek Premium Behind-the-Scenes Experience
Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a zookeeper is like? Come explore some of the most interesting aspects of this wild career. This exclusive experience gives a sneak peek into the daily duties performed by our zookeepers. The Zookeeper Sneak Peek includes a tour of the commissary, observing an elephant training session, and will also provide you with the opportunity to feed or make diets for a few of the Zoo’s animals which may include the anoa, manatees, aviary birds, and more*.

Create-Your-Own Experience
Do you have a favorite Zoo animal that you don’t see listed on these tours? Or would you like to make your own version of a behind-the-scenes tour by mixing parts from each of those seen here? Our tour guide will work with you to provide a personally-tailored trip to make sure you get to see all of your favorites*!

*All opportunities are subject to availability based on animal and staff needs.

Premium Behind-the-Scenes Experiences Program Information:
  • Ages: 18 and up
  • Approx. 90 minutes
  • $100 per adult (8 maximum)
  • There is an additional cost of $50 per person for the Create-Your-Own Experience
  • Includes Zoo admission
  • Must be scheduled 2 weeks in advance.

A Morning in the Mesozoic

Begin your day with a continental breakfast, an educational discussion on the Age of Reptiles, and a tour through DinoQuest2. Become a paleontological protégé as you discover the incredible diversity of dinosaurs and their relatives.


Program Information:
• Ages: 12 and up
• Saturday, April 20
• 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
• Zoo Pass Holders $40/Non-Zoo Pass Holders $50
• Price includes Zoo admission and entrance into DinoQuest2

Team Building
Team Building Trek

Looking for a fun way to build cooperation and boost morale for your team? The Team Building Trek is a 90 minute series of activities designed to build leadership, communication, and team-work among your group. The Trek begins with an activity that will help group members identify their “leadership species” (their personal style of working with others), followed by a team problem-solving challenge that will test your group’s ability to work as a unit. The session wraps up with a mini-scavenger hunt in the Zoo based on the “leadership species” of your group.

Program Information:
  • Ages teen – adult
  • 1-30 participants $250, 31-60 participants $350
  • Zoo access is not required for this program, however, Zoo access can be added for a discounted group rate. Group rates must be scheduled in advance and one person needs to pay for everyone on the day of your visit.


Scavenger Hunt

Use your animal instincts to solve clues, work together, and have fun with the Zoo’s scavenger hunts such as ZSI: Zoo Scene Investigation. Scavenge smartly and hunt hurriedly…the winning group gets a prize.

Program Information:
  • Ages 5 to adults
  • 60 minutes
  • 1-100 participants $125, 101-200 participants $225
  • Must be scheduled in advance
  • Zoo admission is required
